NYRAC x American Real Estate Association

A Strategic Alliance for a Stronger New York

NYRAC has officially become the first local chapter of the American Real Estate Association. This new alliance marks a major step forward in our shared mission to elevate ethical standards, support agents, and advocate for consumers across the real estate industry.

The American Real Estate Association, co-founded by Jason Haber and Mauricio Umansky, was created in response to the industry’s need for stronger, agent-focused leadership following the fallout of the NAR lawsuit and related misconduct allegations. With this strategic alliance, we’re confident in our ability to accelerate our goals and broaden our impact.

What This Means for NYRAC Members

  • Stronger, Not Different: NYRAC remains true to its foundation—our programming, mission, and commitment to members continue unchanged.
  • Leadership Update: Jason Haber is stepping into the role of NYRAC President. Heather Domi will remain active on the Executive Committee, supporting our ongoing efforts.
  • National Expansion: NYRAC will serve as the blueprint for future AREA local chapters across the country, shaping a nationwide standard of excellence.
  • Dues Reduction: In a time of increasing costs, NYRAC has cut our dues in half! NYRAC Annual dues are now $250 (down from $400), and monthly subscriptions have dropped to $25. Credits have already been issued to those who’ve joined or renewed in 2025.
  • Faster Onboarding: New member applications are now processed within 3 business days. Existing approved applicants will be onboarded within 2 business days (excluding holidays).
  • Support from Sponsors: Sponsors remain a critical part of our ecosystem, helping us maintain high-value programming while keeping member dues low.

Our Shared Vision

This partnership reinforces a unified mission: to educate, advocate, and lead. With increased political expertise and national reach, we will:

  • Continue hosting high-quality events and Continuum programming
  • Expand our network of engaged and ethical professionals
  • Strengthen our legislative efforts and policy advocacy
  • Position agents as small business owners and public advocates

NYRAC and the American Real Estate Association are committed to a future where residential real estate professionals are supported—locally and nationally.
